Omo Valley, Ethiopia

Omo Valley, Ethiopia

After many, many hours, bumping around in dirt roads, stopping every 50 metres to let the cow, goat, chicken cross what they decided was a perfect crosswalk; we arrived to the secluded and far away Omo Valley in Ethiopia. After a few days and many hours in the car, you certainly feel you´ve reached the last corner in the world. It feels good. In these days we got to meet some of the most amazing tribes and people in the world. It was a culturally enriching experience for sure.

Here is a little girl from the Hamar tribe. Her mother invited us to their hand-made home and invited us to a delicious Ethiopian coffee breakfast. We spent there some time trying to talk in signs for a while, smiling and sharing what we could with them. After, she showed us their village and their traditions. It was quite an experience and it showed us that there are definitely different ways of understanding life, very different on what the Western World makes us think as what it´s a normal life. All in all, a very enriching and special experience that will be in my memory forever. Ethiopia is special.
